In January 2000 I reported to a new job straight out of college. There was the normal corporate trainings but soon I was assigned to a specific IP Services team. DNS and BIND by O’Reilly was the earliest training material provided. If a feature or configuration was unfamiliar, the book was there to cover it. We had lab time to put things into practice but every customer environment was different.
Job roles evolved over time but DNS was always one of my core technical skills I could leverage on multidisciplined teams. The book has had several revisions which sit on my shelf. It isn’t a single source of information anymore but it stands out as one of my first.
Today at the local Infoblox Users Group I was able to meet its author Cricket Liu and obtain a signed copy.
Thanks Cricket.
